You can use voting for all sorts of fun stuff in Quickbase.
It's kinda like having your own thumbs up 👍 or thumbs down 👎 for any record in your app.
In the Secrets of API Buttons for Quickbase, I teach you, step-by-step, how to do just that!
This tutorial is a sneak peek into the training where I walk through the scenario, setup, and demo for adding helpfulness votes to FAQs in Quickbase.
FULL DISCLOSURE: The step-by-step walkthrough of the API formula is only available in the paid course (learn more here).
Voting Scenario:
- FAQs for common HR Questions are documented in a Quickbase
- The HR team would like to measure the helpful score of the FAQs (# of helpful votes / total # of votes)
- They do not want employees to be able to vote more than once for any single FAQ
- They would also like an audit log of all votes
Voting Objective (with one HELPFUL click):
- Mark an FAQ as helpful (by adding to both the numerator and denominator of the helpful formula)
- Disable user from casting additional votes on that FAQ (helpful or not helpful)
- Log vote for auditing
Voting Objective (with one UNHELPFUL click):
- Mark an FAQ as not helpful (by adding only the denominator of the helpful formula)
- Disable user from casting additional votes on that FAQ (helpful or not helpful)
- Log vote for auditing
This training is directly from the Quick Base Junkie course Secrets of API Buttons.
It is one of many examples where I walk you through, step-by-step, the scenario, setup, formula, and live demonstration of a Quickbase API Button in ACTION (not to mention all the training and resources to build your own API buttons from scratch)!!
