Adding Notes to Formulas in Quickbase
Dec 01, 2019Adding notes inside your Quickbase formulas can save you huge amounts of time and frustration in the future!
Notes within your formula fields will allow you to no only describe what the formula does, but also allow you to call out any special information such as where information is coming from or how it's intended to be used.
A note can consist of whatever information you or a future admin may find valuable when updating, changing or reviewing the formula.
Notes are added to the formula box using two preceding forward slashes and can be added at the beginning of the formula or even after a line within the formula.
This tutorial is a sneak peek into a lesson in the Secrets of API Buttons training where I walk you through how to use notes as part of your formulas. Notes are particularly helpful when creating API button formulas or ANY long formula.
It is one of many lessons I walk you through, step-by-step, the scenario, setup, formula, and live demonstration of a Quickbase API Button in ACTION (not to mention all the training and resources to build your own API buttons from scratch)!!
